WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU NEED TO CANCEL OR THE WEATHER IS WHACK?

If the weather is crazy/uncontrollable events/I am sick, your retainer will go towards a re-schedule or you can have it refunded. However, if you need to cancel or don't show up to the shoot, the retainer will be forfeited. Please give me a 48-hour notice for reschedules. If client wishes to reschedule within 48 hours, and in the unlikely event that I am unable to accommodate the changes, client is subject to forfeit the retainer amount (but I will try my very best not to let this happen).

The purpose of the retainer is to guarantee your date and time. If you cancel last minute, I could have booked someone else during that period.

I do not write anything in my calendar until the retainer has been paid. Nothing is booked until the retainer has been paid.

The other half + travel fees are due on the date specified in our written contract, usually a few days before the photo shoot.

TRAVEL FEES

Travel fees are needed to cover gas and vehicle expenses. I charge $1.00 per mile, one way. If your location is 15 miles away from my start (usually my home), your travel fee is $15.00 added to the total.

Some packages include a complimentary location within central San Diego (Mission Beach, Ocean Beach, Coronado Ferry Landing, Presidio Park, etc). Locations chosen other than these locations will require a $1.00 per mile travel fee. Simple enough! Also, no rush on the location if you're booking weeks in advance! We can always decide on that as we discuss your outfit selections for the photoshoot.

where do you shoot?

Sessions are shot in the great outdoors, using natural light. Cohesion with your outfits and the location is a must. I like to suggest locations after the outfits are picked, or if you'd like to discuss the location first, and then pick your outfits based on the inspiration from that location - that works too! Parks, open fields and secluded beaches are more open and typically less crowded. So keep that in mind when choosing a location, but I do not mind the challenge of open places like theme parks for fun themed-photos. Decide on a location you/and or your family are most comfortable with and one that has meaning to it. We will definitely discuss all of this pre-shoot and I'll be happy to help with any suggestions.

I like the challenge of making anywhere beautiful, so don't be afraid to say we're shooting on the sidewalk of your grandparent's front porch. If you have a vision, let me compliment your vision and capture that memory.

am i willing to traveL?

Within San Diego, North County San Diego, and neighboring areas at the moment. I may make exceptions so don’t hesitate to ask.

when do you shoot?

My shoots start before sunset and usually end during blue hour (after the sun sets). Morning and afternoon light are best for a non harsh, colorful, golden glow in your photos were no off camera lighting is necessary.

Since it’ll be dark by the time we finish, don’t forget to bring sweaters for your drive home!

DO YOU GIVE OUT RAWS (unedited photos)?

I do not. RAWS do not open like regular files so a specific program is needed to view them. They are always humongous files that take up a lot of space. Leave that up to me as the files you will be downloading will be fully edited, have high resolution, and space-friendly for your phone and computer.

DO YOU HELP WITH OUTFITS?

Most definitely! THIS IS THE MAIN PART and my favorite part of the entire process. If you need help with picking out outfits to coordinate your family as a whole, i'm all here for it! From color palette suggestions, to texture and design. All without taking away your identity.

If you’re booked with me I ask that you send me photos of everyone’s outfits laid out so we have a sense of what the outcome will look like.

day of your session

Feel free to bring props, or a quick change of clothes/accessories to customize your photos. Props can be anything: your car, a blanket, a hat, champagne and glasses, squirt guns, a bouquet of flowers - don't feel limited! Let me know if you plan to do this so we can coordinate accordingly since sessions are time-sensitive. I want you to have an awesome experience along with photos that capture the true you and your loved ones.

If you decide to bring a change of clothes, the time of our session does not stop when you are changing and getting ready.

how will i receive my photos?

You will receive all your files through a private, online gallery, which is time sensitive and requires you to log in. I’ll send the log in info to you so you can then download each photo on your mobile device or the entire gallery on your computer for personal use. My clients like this method because it allows them to save high quality photos to their phones, instead of ruining the quality by sending the photos they want to post from their computers to their phones.

Please let me know beforehand if you need more time to download your photos in case you are out of town or unavailable. Your gallery will only be available for download for a certain time. Make sure you save + backup your files asap. In the event that your downloads were lost for whatever reason, after the gallery is available for download, I do offer re-downloads for a flat fee.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR PHOTOS TO BE READY?

You'll get a sneak peek typically within a week on my social media. Between working at the hospital, being a student and being a plant mom, I deliver photos within 21 days of our session, but I always try my best to beat this time frame. I do offer a flat rate fee for rush delivery if you need photos within 7 days of the session.
